We’re aware that there’s been some confusion around Notoriety and Tournaments, so we want to provide some additional clarity about how these features work.
As you participate in Tournaments, you’ll accrue Notoriety over the course of a “Season”. A Tournament Season lasts for 4 weeks (4 Tournaments), and your victories will earn you Notoriety, as mentioned above.
Your Notoriety is your overall Tournament Rank, and it dictates which prizes you’re able to win each week. At the end of each Season, Notoriety is reduced for all players based on their League (with the exception of Bronze Leagues). This reduction exists to create a more balanced playing field for each Season and to help keep the opponents you face interesting and challenging.
NOTE: The higher your previous week's rank, the more notoriety you'll lose when Seasons reset.
In order to remain the Champion of your League you’ll need to work hard, diversify your Roster, and fight to stay at the top!
Now that we’ve addressed how the feature is intended to work, we want to talk about some issues we’ve seen that may have been adding to confusion. Previously, we announced that Notoriety diminished weekly; this was an unfortunate miscommunication on our part, and we sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience.
Based on your feedback, we’ll be working to make the functionality of this feature more clear in-game. If you have any feedback, please feel free to let us know!
